Give your home office space a new look!

With today’s current situation, many have starting working from home.  This may be temporary, permanent or unknown but give your home office attention.  There are advantages to working from home but there can also be disadvantages if not set up in the proper space with lighting, furniture, office California blinds, privacy, etc.

Read how we think you can ensure you can get the best home office space:

  1. Storage

Think through your work needs and how you flow from one task to another.  What do you need readily available and what can be stored or tucked away for tasks that are not daily? Keep your workspace decluttered and tidy for a clear mindset and this will help you stay on task and not be distracted.  Equip yourself with tools that help keep you organized ie. Whiteboards, bulletin boards, file organizers, hidden storage, shelves, pencil drawers etc.

“If your office space requires storage, make sure that piece looks great on its own and isn’t this super-utilitarian file cabinet” – Dani Arps.

  1. Light

Having natural light can be very beneficial for your workspace, it can also be disadvantageous if not easily controlled for when glare reduction or heat regulation is required. There are many office windows covering solutions that can private low maintenance blind options, modern office blinds and functional California blinds or shades for your home office.  Among the most common collection would be shutters, roller shades, honeycomb shades, zebra blinds, mini office blinds, faux wood blinds, vertical blinds.

  1. Design

Start with what furniture will be required for your home office space: desk, lights, filing, storage, computer, chair, phone, media devices, etc. How would this best be layed out to accommodate your daily tasks: zoom meetings, online consults, conference phone calls, etc. Mockup a few different layouts, feel out what may work best. What makes you feel good in this space? Do you want Roman blinds or California? Make sure this space is safe and wires are not a tripping hazard for you, clients, or children that may be popping in and out.

  1. Greenery

Bring some life to your home office with a plant, flower, or any sort of greenery. Studies have shown that greens can enhance energy, mood and air quality when in the work space. You can even take it one step further and add an aquarium! No matter what you choose, make sure you’ve picked the right window shutters to let the light in for the life you’ve brought into your home office!

  1. Breaks

Plan your day as you are in the office and schedule breaks to stretch, change position, increase blood flow, get fresh air and open your window shutters, or refuel with a beverage, snack or lunch. Being mindful of this balance will only benefit your work performance.

Create a space that you want to be in, where you can concentrate on the work you hopefully love and enjoy doing.  Make this space warm and inviting, inspire yourself with paint, artwork, fun office California blind patterns, and innovative storage. Add some personal touches that make you happy like a family photo, achievement or favorite trip.
